Ciao Ragazzo!
Over Sumer of 2011 I had the great pleasure of being able to travel around Europe. It was in Florence Italy that I came across this stylish looking man. Keeping in mind that I know about three words in Italian I did not go up to him and ask him about his outfit, I did manage though to sneak a picture.
The Outfit:
A dark navy blazer paired with a crisp white button down that only up close you can see has very faint stripes going through it. It is also noted that the blazer is neatly cuffed to allow the button downs sleeves to peek through. The button down is tucked into his bright pink straight legged jeans with a simple black belt. The pink pants are very clearly the statement piece of his outfit. It is hard for a man in general let alone at his age to be able to pull off coloured pants, but I must say that he does it very well. Lastly he is wearing two toned brown trainers.
Look forward to more street style posts coming up from Victoria and me!

New Essie Nail Polishes
I must confess, I do have a minor nail polish addiction. OPI has always been my favourite and forever will have a special place in my heart but I have recently been more and more impressed with Essie. Their colours weren't as appealing to me before, as they were mostly different shades of soft pink Not something I often wear. Though recently through different collections they have started to expand their colour range. I recently picked up these three new colours from Essie.
The first one (top right) is Absolutely Shore from Essies Summer 2011 collection: Colour Me Braziliant. Essie describes the colour as "a soft sea foam green." It more resembles though a soft minty green.
The second one (middle) is Bobbing for Baubles from Essies Winter 2011/2012 collection: Cocktail Bling. Essie describes the colour as " the deepest darkest sapphire." I find this pretty accurate, as it is a dark sapphire/navy blue.
The last one (bottom left) is School of Hard Rocks also from Essies Winter 2011/2012 collection: Cocktail Bling. The colour is described as " a midnight malachite." To me it is more of a deep army green, something I have been looking for for a while.
The consistence of all three of these polishes is very good, they all go opaque after two coats and are fairly chip resistant.

Review: Jason Wu for Target
It’s
finally here! The Lookbook for the new Jason Wu collection for Target has
finally been released after many hints and teasers. This will be a review on
what I think of the collection and my opinions on it.
After many successful collections from
premier designers for stores such as H&M and Target it came as no surprise
that all the designers are jumping on this bandwagon. Previously, Target has
had a considerable amount of success with their lines from Missoni, Rodarte and
Zac Posen (which I all loved!), so I was thrilled when I found out that Jason Wu
would be making a collection for them. After his quick rise to fame from
designing Michelle Obama’s inaugural dress, I was hooked on his contemporary
and modern looks with his keen eye for detail, beautiful colours and clean
lines.
This collection definitely did not shy away from that. There is not a
single piece from the collection that I don’t absolutely fall head over heels
for. His collection consists of beautiful, playful and flirty dresses and
skirts along with gorgeous blouses, all perfect for spring. His colour scheme
was absolutely flawless as well. He did many looks in pastels, nautical colours
and monochromatic black and white. These looks can be easily worn to work or a
party by the average woman or even teenagers like myself. You can see examples
of this above, where I put together some of my personal favourite looks from the
collection. One thing that I am most excited for would be the white blouse with
the bow-tie(seen above, far left). It is very hard to find a nice, affordable
blouse nowadays that is made properly. I am so excited for it as there are many
different ways to wear it, classic with a skirt, edgy with a pair of leather
leggings and mod with neon denim or corduroy shorts(I would go with orange or
bright pink). Every garment looks extremely well-constructed with ladylike
silhouettes and is right on the “clean classics” trend for this spring. And let’s
not forget all of the gorgeous briefcase inspired, structured bags that are
included too, they are all right on par with the collection and the modern,
classic vibe. This collection will be available in all participating Target
stores across America with prices ranging from 19.99-49.99$ from Febuary 5th
through March 6th. Start making your wish list and saving now girls!

Favorites from 2011
0: Statement jewelry is by far one of
my favorite trends of 2011. The bib necklace, gigantic cocktail rings, and
massive earrings were seen all around this year. The main reason as to why this
was one of my favorite trends this year is because it was the perfect way to
make an outfit look completed. Paired with jeans, flats, a plain tee, and then
a statement piece of jewelry (bib necklace maybe) and you have this perfect
effortless chic look.
1: An all time favorite and probably
always will be is oversized knit sweaters, a forever classic that never seems
to go out of style. Paired with skinny jeans, combat boots, a satchel, and a
red lip and you have a laid-back-cool look. Paired with leather leggings and
killer heels, then you're ready for a night out.
2: Denim, denim, denim! The classic
skinny jean, works for night and day. The denim vest, instantly transforms an
outfit. Highwaisted denim shorts, always a must have to the summer time (or
winter! Paired with tights underneath). Denim on denim was also a must this
past year! Many celebs rocked this look (Rihana anyone?) plus rules were always
made to be broken.
3: Choosing my favorite type of bag
this year was difficult, seeing I have a massive bag collections one would
expect this. I ended up choosing two, the small cross body and the classic bag.
For me the small cross body bag is a must because of its size and versatility.
Perfect for festival season. The classic bag for me either has to be brown,
black, tan, or camel and must fall into the classic shape of the Hermes Birkin,
Louis Vuttion Speedy, Coach Shopper, or Mulberry's Alexa. Shapes like these are
classic and will last you for years.
4: Beauty Picks for 2011: Glitter nail
polish was big for me this past year. I have no clue where this strange
obsession came from, but it came full-force. My recommendations: OPI's Rainbow
Collection or Mad As A Hatter (if you can manage to get your hands on it
still). Mint nails were also greatly appreciated by me in 2011. The minty green
manicure or the lilac purple, either one on my nails and I was happy.
Recommended for mint nails: Essie's Mint Candy Apple or Absolutely Shore. For
the lilac purple nails, cannot go wrong with OPI's Done Out in Deco.
5: My favorite shoes this year were the
ankle boot and Jesus style sandal, both classic and versatile. Paired with
virtually any outfit these two footwear options will never fail you. Go for
them in a classic black for the most outfit options.
6: Tribal has always been a favorite
print of mine, then when the tribal printed leggings and pants came out, I was
in heaven. This statement piece was a fun staple in my summer wardrobe. I
personally got my pair from H&M and practically lived in them.
7: The utility jacket is by far my
favorite jacket this year. It is particle and stylish with its many pockets. In
colors like, kaki, tan, black, and brown paired with virtually any outfit and
this jacket works. Even works great during the colder months used as a sweater!
8: The maxi dress, a hippie favorite.
Possibly the most comfortable thing one can wear and requires pretty much no
effort. This dress works for beach, festival, or even a formal even as they
come in many different types of fabric. Paired with a bowler hat and beachy
sandals or with glam make up and some bling and your ready to go.
9: Cheetah and leopard print were
another strange obsession this past year. Either in a scarf, shirt, bag, shoes,
jewelry, or bathsuit this print never failed me! My leopard print scarf from
Zara never went unloved by me once this year, forever dressing up a blah
outfit. These prints can be done horribly wrong but with the right amount of
neutral colors mixed in you will rock it right.
10: Chiffon, this lux fabric with its
beautiful movement is my winner for 2011. It works for day or night with the
mass selection of cuts, shapes, styles, and colors out there. Pair with
anything this top never failed me this past year. If I didn’t know what to
wear, the chiffon top it was.
